Bees Won't Exist

Technical Artist, character modeller, rigger, skinner and UV mapper for fast-paced 3D isometric hack n' slash indie game.

This was a lot of fun to work on. In addition to my role as a character and technical artist, I also was this project's lead designer and writer. All the characters displayed here are built off of concept art generated by David Upcher based on us putting our heads together as to how to represent the enemies of the game. The simpler characters are modelled off of turnarounds.

The game has a friendly and disarming visual style which is subverted by weird themes that grow steadily more unsettling as the game progresses. Approximately 30-40 minutes of playtime for the average player, featuring a complete story arc and two separate endings depending on the player's choices.
